Hypnosis is purely a uninterrupted daydream state in which a person remains absolutely aware of their surroundings and in charge of their actions. When you are in hypnosis you are wakeful and conscious, you are not sleeping. Your mind is still lively, your thoughts are under your control. You can speak, hear, laugh and remember everything that has happened. Many experts believe we enter hypnosis as much as 70% of our day! It is as innate as breathing, in fact 15 minutes of hypnosis can be equivalent of one hour of soothing sleep. There is nothing risky about hypnosis. Many people fear hypnosis because they believe they would be under the control of the hypnotist. In reality you are always in control and can choose not to respond to a suggestion. You can bring yourself out of hypnosis at any time. Hypnosis is appropriate for resolving a wide variety of problems and in many cases can be helpful in just a few sessions. In a Ericksonian hypnosis session you will be taken into an alterated state where you can access different parts of youself. Then the therapist works, with your collaboration, on those area and cleans/integrates what is needed.
